COMMUNITY STANDARD
Onthealease team has established these Community Standards to help guide behaviour and recognise the values that underpin our community.
We are constantly refining our approach to meet the needs of our community. But these five standards: safety, security, fairness, authenticity and reliability; remain as the core standards in our efforts to help ensure safety and foster belonging. We are constantly working to ensure they are enforced.
Safety first
In order to make this community feel safe and can be trusted. We require that you refrain from endangering or threatening anyone.
Harmful actions to yourself or to others
You should not commit any acts of violence such as and not limited to physical or sexual assault, physical or sexual abuse, physical or sexual harassment, domestic violence, robbery, human trafficking, or hold anyone against their will. This community does not welcome any Members of dangerous organisations, including terrorist, organised criminal and violent racist groups. Onthelease is committed to working with law enforcement as appropriate and responding to valid law enforcement requests.
Threatening anyone
You should not convey any intent to harm anyone in writing, verbally or physically. We also take threats of self-harm very seriously and we may intervene if we become aware of such a threat.
Creating hazardous situations
You should not list any items that are hazardous or faulty, nor should you list any items that may create conditions that increase the likelihood of a fire or impede escape in the event of emergency.
Security
Whether you are an Asset Owner or a Customer, you should trust that you will feel secured. We ask you to respect the assets and information of other members.
Theft, vandalism or extortion
You should not treat the asset as if it is not your own belonging, continue to make use of the asset without the permission of the asset owner, copy identity documents of others, damage the asset of others, or threaten others with bad ratings or any other penalty or harmful actions in exchange for any compensation or benefits.

Spam, phishing or fraud
You should not conduct any transactions outside of Onthelease’s payments system; attempt to divert or drive traffic to other sites or advertise unrelated products; commit booking fraud, credit card fraud or money laundering; divert payments meant for others; abuse our referral system or make false claims against other members of the community.
Violating the privacy or intellectual property rights of others
You should not spy on other people; You should not access the account(s) of other member(s) without authorization or violate the privacy, copyrights or trademarks of others.
Fairness
The Onthelease community is multinational, unique and vibrant. Fairness is what holds us together, be welcoming, be kind and treat others like how you would like to be treated.
Discriminatory behaviour
In every interaction, you should treat everyone with respect. You should follow all applicable laws and not treat others differently or insult others because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender, gender identity, disability or serious diseases.

Bullying or harassing others
You should not share personal information to humiliate or blackmail others, target others with unwanted behaviour, discredit others or violate our review and content standards.
Authenticity
Your Onthelease experiences should be full of pleasant . Since our community is built on trust, authenticity is crucial. It requires a balance of shared expectations, honest interactions and accurate details.
Misrepresenting yourself
You should not provide false information about yourself such as a false name or date of birth, use listings for commercial purposes without the permission from the Asset Owner, maintain duplicate accounts or create an account if you’re under 18.
Misrepresenting your asset
You should not provide inaccurate asset information, have incorrect availability, mislead people about the type, nature or details of your listing, replace one listing for another, set up fake or fraudulent listings, leave fraudulent reviews, engage in deceptive pricing or fail to disclose hazardous or faulty issues.
Reliability
Since our community relies heavily on self-control of our members, we have to be able to trust the reliability of each other, whether it be in punctual communication, the condition of the asset or in the expectations we set.
Providing unclean and malfunction/ faulty assets
You should not provide assets with sub-standard cleanliness or with any malfunctions or faultiness.
You should perform an asset check 72 hours prior to the exchange or when the rental is scheduled to start (whichever is earlier).
Breaking commitments
Aside from extenuating circumstances, you should not cancel after the deadline set in the relevant cancellation policy. You should also not fail to make the exchange possible, fail to make a payment, or break the rules of the Asset Owner.
Being responsive
You should try to maintain higher ratings during each review, be responsive during booking or throughout a rental period, provide a valid point of contact for Asset Owner or refuse to participate in our resolution process.
