Onthelease utilises cookies, mobile identifiers, tracking URLs, log data and similar technologies to help provide, guard, and improve the Onthelease Platform. This Cookie Policy (“Policy”) supplements the Onthelease Privacy Policy and explains how and the reason why we make use of these technologies and the choices you have.

Reasons Why Onthelease Makes Use of These Technologies

We make use of these technologies for various purposes, such as:

  • to enable members to access and utilise the Onthelease Platform and the Payment Services
  • to enable, facilitate and streamline the functioning of and your access to the Onthelease Platform
  • to have a better understanding in how members navigate through and interact with the Onthelease Platform and to improve the Onthelease Platform
  • to serve members tailored advertising (such as on the Onthelease Platform, emails and on third-party websites)
  • to show members more relevant content (e.g., advertisements)
  • to monitor and analyse the performance, operation, and effectiveness of the Onthelease Platform and Onthelease advertisements
  • to enforce legal agreements that govern the use of the Onthelease Platform
  • for fraud detection and prevention, trust and safety, and investigations
  • for other purposes such as our own customer support, analytics, research, product development, and regulatory compliance.

Cookies


When you access the Onthelease Platform we may place cookies on your device. Cookies are small text files that websites send to your computer or other Internet-connected device to uniquely identify your browser or to store information or settings in your browser. Cookies allow the website to recognise you upon your return. They also assist to provide a customised experience and enable websites to detect certain kinds of fraud. In many cases the information we collect using cookies and other tools is only used in a non-identifiable manner without reference to personal information. For example, we may utilise the information we collect for better understanding of the website traffic patterns and to optimize your experience on our website. In some cases we associate the information we collect using cookies and other technology with your personal information. Our business partners may also use these tracking technologies on the Onthelease Platform or engage others to track your behavior on our behalf.

There are two types of cookies being used on the Onthelease Platform: (i) “session cookies” and (ii) “persistent cookies.” Session cookies normally expire when you close your browser, while persistent cookies remain on your device after you close your browser and it can be used again the next time you visit the Onthelease Platform.

In many cases, if you adjust the settings on your browser, you can manage cookie preferences and opt-out of having cookies and other data collection technologies being used. All browsers are different, visit the “help” section of your browser to learn about cookie preferences and other privacy settings that may be available. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject cookies or clear local storage this could affect the features, availability, and functionality of the Onthelease Platform.

Pixel Tags, Web Beacons, and Trackers


Pixel tags, web beacons, and tracking urls are tiny graphic images and/or small blocks of code placed on website pages, ads, or in our emails that allow us to determine whether you performed a specific action. When you visit these pages, or when you open an email, enable us to understand that you have visited the web page or opened up the email. These tools help us measure the response to our communications and make improvements to our web pages and promotions.

Server Logs and Other Technologies


We collect various types of data from server logs and other technologies. For example, we collect data about the device you use to visit the Onthelease Platform, type of operating system you chose, type of browser, domain, and other system settings, not only that, but also the language your system uses and the country and time zone where your device is located. Our server logs also record the IP address of your device being used to connect to the Internet. An IP address is a unique identifier that devices require to identify and communicate with each other on the Internet. We may also collect data about the websites you visit before and after you visited the Onthelease Platform. These tools assist us to improve user experience and deliver our services.

Device Information


We may use device-related information to authenticate users. For example, we may use your IP address, browser data, or other information provided by your browser or device to identify the device used to access our platform. We may also utilise these device-related techniques for associating you with various devices that you may use to access our content including for fraud-protection purposes and for better target advertising.

Third Parties


Third parties, including Facebook, place technologies such as pixels and SDKs on the Onthelease Platform. These technologies (1) help us analyse your user behaviour on the Onthelease Platform, such as by recording the third party services from which you arrived, (2) market and advertise Onthelease services to you via the Onthelease Platform and third party websites, (3) help us identify or prevent fraud or perform risk assessments, and (4) collect data about your activities on the Onthelease Platform, other sites, and/or the ads you have clicked on. For example, to aid us to understand better in how people utilise the Onthelease Platform, we work with various analytics partners, including Google Analytics. You may install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser to prevent Google Analytics from utilising your data for analytics.

Third parties (such as Facebook) may also use such tracking technologies to collect or receive data from the Onthelease Platform and elsewhere and use that data to serve ads that they believe are most relevant to you and measure the effectiveness of their ads both on the Onthelease Platform and on other websites and online services. Targeting and advertising cookies we use may include Google, and other advertising networks and services we use from time to time. Click here to understand how Google manages data in its ad products. For more information about targeting and advertising cookies and how you can opt out, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page and the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out page. You can visit the Google Ads Settings page should you wish to opt out of Google Analytics for display advertising or customise Google display network ads. To the extent advertising technology is integrated into the Onthelease Platform and you opt-out of tailored advertising. In such an event, you may still receive advertising content, but the advertising content will just not be tailored to your interests. Also, Onthelease does not control any of these opt-out links and is not responsible for the availability or accuracy of these mechanisms. By updating their Facebook account ad settings and by contacting customerservice@Onthelease.com clearly describing your request and validation information, users can opt-out of the collection and use of information for ad targeting.

Third Party Social Plugins


The Onthelease Platform may use social plugins provided and operated by third parties, for example, Like Button on Facebook. As a result of this, you may send to the third party the content that you are viewing on a certain part of the Onthelease Platform. The third party may not know your identity if you are not logged into your account with the third party. If you are logged in to your account with the third party, then the third party may be able to link data or actions about your interactions with the Onthelease Platform to your account with them. Please refer to the privacy policies of the third parties to learn more about its data practices.

Your Choices


Most browsers automatically accept cookies, however you can modify your browser setting to decline cookies by visiting the Help button located in the toolbar of your browser. While you may disable cookies via your browser settings, the Onthelease Platform currently does not support the “Do Not Track” function in the HTTP header from your browser or mobile application due to lack of standardisation regarding how that signal should be interpreted.

Your mobile device may allow you to control cookies through its settings function. Refer to the instructions of your device manufacturer for more details.

If you choose to decline cookies, some parts of the Onthelease Platform may not work as intended or may not work at all.
